Hey! Long time and no chat! Thought I catch
up in a big blog post illustrating my life for the past couple of weeks and try
to get back into a more regular routine! <3 Firstly, I thought I’d share a
special moment of my life recently from Piha. After a very stressful morning
the other day we took the boys out to the beach for a walk. Grabbed my camera
on impulse as I was leaving and got some lovely snaps of the boys in another beautiful
West Auckland sunset. They had an amazing time romping together (as usual) and I
had fun taking many selfies with Enzo :-)
The holidays have been unproductive so far –
I haven’t done nearly enough work! But after a very stressful term the break
has been much appreciated - a mental breakdown halfway through the week would
not have been great! Despite all my moaning, when my attention was drawn to the
100 Days of Gratitude Challenge circulating around at the moment it definitely
got me thinking of all the teachers who have helped me this term. I do not thank them enough AT ALL so I thought
this would be a small way to show my appreciation to these fab people, mentors
and idols for helping me through a tough time.
- Ms McFarland your positive, dedicated and hard-working attitude is a reminder to always be happy and put in 100%
- Ms Szybowski – thanks a MILLION for an amazing semester of drama with you. I loved every minute of it and will miss your constantly amazing presence.
- Ms Mitchell, OhMyGoodness I wouldn’t be the same without our hilarious debating conversations or the way I can always trust you to help me or give me advice – you rock!
- Ms Alatisi you are incredible, love you a long time x
- Miss V. I don’t know if you realise how much hero-worship goes on when your back is turned but you are my true idol and I couldn’t even begin to think what this year would have been like without your positive influence. I want to be just like you when I am older and you are the main reason I am coping at the moments, so thank you! xxxxxx
So there goes my silly little thank you rant
:P But it was well overdue, as being a selfish human individual I don’t show my
appreciation enough.In
other holiday updates – I am back in the saddle! Yes, finally got the all clear
to ride for the specialist during the first week so I have recently been
soaking up the surprisingly clear weather and ability to do what I truly love.
This good news also comes with an action plan of attack! I am also on a rehab
program to start building strength in my back, which involves participation at
a gym (a meme of Sheldon Cooper fearfully whispering: The Horror! Comes to
mind) and some home exercises. The verdict after the MRI was damaged discs in
my back – which would certainly explain the pain! But although I am whinging
about the thought of exercise I am actually enjoying this opportunity as my healthy
living plan at the moment involves making lots of lists on how to improve my
life (Note the lack of practical application here). But in all seriousness, the
holidays have been awful for this supposed detox! Binge eating on toast and not
exercising some days have left me feeling laggy and dehydrated. This does have
a slight perk fortunately, as I have been prompted to make a weekly goal for a
healthier lifestyle, maybe you could join me! This week I am going to aim to
drink lots more water for energy and skin care. I am still super thrilled with
being able to ride again, and spent most of the weekend doing just that with
the Colemans. I don’t have any pictures of me and Sky together so here is the
amazing Cass riding him last weekend. And while we are mention people to thank –
add Sue onto that list. Without her help I would be nowhere bringing Sky back
into work, thanks a ton
Unfortunately previous plans for big meet-ups
and re-dying my hair along with art courses and shopping trips have gone down
the gutter, as I was simply too lazy. However I did enjoy a fun filled day
about town with my aunt, and a night at the Alexandra Park trots. My friend
Maddison also introduced me to Supernatural – a fantasy horror show with a deep
Tumblr fan base. So, long story short – thanks! Life officially ruined by
another set of fictional characters! Another highly productive and life ruining
activity I have been indulging in recently is a huge Sherlock marathon, which
to be brutally honest, doesn’t include a lot of content (MOFFAT!!!) But all
fandom feels and shipping aside, I have huge huge huge respect for both Steven
Moffat and Mark Gatiss (the creators of this show), as it is expertly written
and constructed beautifully. Plus, there is the total babe of Benedict
Cumberbatch, who, if you actually read this blog, is featured heavily here ;) I
also ordered a new Doctor Who shirt (link below) to match the sign in my room.
I’m already falling in love with it and know it will be featured heavily in my
future Instagram posts!
Lastly, some definite July favourites includes
Demi Lovato’s book Staying Strong: 365
Days A Year. Absolutely amazing and fast becoming a Bible for me at the
moments. I recently went on an Amazon Kindle binge buying spree, and this was
in the shopping cart. Demi is a big idol of mine and this book is reflection of
her healing and sunny character. I am trying really hard to follow in the daily
goal plan laid out to try and boost confidence and to make you stronger and
more thankful. Also an emergency trip to the supermarket to soothe incredible
chapped lips (must be all this winter sun!) found me stumbling across the
INCREDIBLE Blistex lip balm. I got the lovely tasting Raspberry Lemonade Blast
and it instantly healed and hydrated my lips. Definitely going to go back for
more, and at a really affordable price for $4 it is top quality product for
very little cash! This is a change from my usual Maybelline Baby Lips
Anti-Oxidant Berry, although I did pick up a tube of this as it an absolute
life saver. My other monthly favourite is my cute black Cotton On sundress I
purchased on the clearance rack for $20 last month. I have worn this several
times this month and am fast falling in love with it. I wish they could bring
it back for next season but for now I’m just enjoying it before I grow out of
it! I’ll put a link down below for these products that are still available, plus the link to my
vlogging camera that captured these cute pics x And of course my other social
media links for you to come and say hi!Hope
your lives are as good as mine and I’ll see you next week,

Love Ella xox
